Operation Supply Drop Charity

Operation Supply Drop Charity
Operation Supply Drop (OSD) is a military charity that is part of Front Towards Gamer, they make and send video game care packages to our boys deployed in high threat areas overseas. If at first your mind may have wandered to thinking that there are better charities to donate to, consider for a moment that these troops are risking their lives daily, and if we can donate a few dollars to making them smile or reminding them of home, I’m thinking that we’re doing something so very right. Like most charities, OSD relies on donations and sponsors to supply goods and cash to actually be able to send out these truly awesome care packages.
Firstly, there is an Xbox Live Community Playdate (YES it will be featured on the Xbox Live Dashboard!) taking place Friday, March 30th, from 8PM-11PM Eastern. Staff members of Front Towards Gamer and Charisma+2 Models (yours truly included) will be gaming up some multiplayer Mass Effect 3, so come join the fun!
After the Xbox Live Community Playdate ends, the 24-Hour Gaming Marathon starts bright and early, Saturday, March 31st from 8AM to Sunday, April 1st 8AM Eastern. A variety of games will be played on Xbox and PS3, and possibly PC as well. Do absolutely check their site for details on what the games are and when they will be played so you are fired up ready to go! They list the games & times on the home page so you are sure to not miss out!
Here’s where YOU can help! The guys at OSD will be raffling off some pretty cool items throughout the marathon that were donated by various gaming companies, so you will definitely want to have snagged some raffle tickets. The raffle tickets are $3 each, and why yes, you can buy as many as your heart desires. Keep in mind these donations are being used to send our troops some love and seriously sweet care packages, so if you can, buy a few!
What’s being raffled you ask? OSD posted a picture of one of the prizes that will be raffled off, and guess what? It’s an Astro A40 Wireless Gaming Headset, which is totally awesome; especially when you can get this from a $3 ticket! That is only ONE of the prizes that will be raffled off, so there is more to come.
Right now you must be thinking that the marathon sounds like a pretty darn good time, right? FTG staff, C+2 Models, Video Games, Prizes, and the most important part, bringing our troops some much needed sunshine and love. If you would love to partake in this great experience direct yourself to one of the three ways to donate below (copied from the OSD home page).
TO DONATE:
1) Use the Chipin link on the front of Front Towards Gamer.com. OR 2) Use the Chipin link on the front page of Operation Supply Drop.org. OR 3) Make a Paypal donation to donations@operationsupplydrop.org.
[Update: I have been having some issues with the Chipin links timing out or just not working properly, so instead I made a donation by using Option 3, via Paypal. If you have never used Paypal and are wary, it is completely secure and super fast. I have had zero issues.]
