Music that Gamers Like

My mom sometimes wonder why I prefer texting and emails to phone calls. One is that I am more productive. Another reason is, I can regulate how much time I allot to the various circles in my life. One great reason though is I can listen to music while I work. I generally prefer dub/house/club music if I need to stay at a certain energy level such as Morgan and Reyes. I frequently listen to Drone Zone and other ambient music on iTunes Radio when I am doing a great deal of intense multitasking. However, if it is just a normal day, I like to hear music that has lyrics. My tastes vary quite a bit, but Here are some of my favorites today:

I cannot say enough about how much I love Gaëlle Bellaunay of Kensico. The first time I heard her sing was in Paris. She was singing an alto, very French, Edith Piaf type song and her voice, so deep, so full of emotion, carried away my soul onto a collection of three minute journeys. I didn’t want to leave.

Later as we became closer friends, she introduced me to the sublime and organic ecstasy of an impromptu jam with friends. I listened there on a couch in a small flat of one of my film crew as my emotions were swept away from me with jazz. The apartment opened onto a small courtyard, that began to fill with more friends who brought over some breads, wines, and cheeses. I miss those sort of events. No set plans, they just magically happen. People heard the music playing sweetly in the lazy afternoon and just brought pillows to sit on and foods to be shared. It happened in Paris frequently.

I had never particularly like jazz all that much, but it is where that particular jam went. I had never been in a situation before of seeing music take on a life of it’s own. In many ways, even though I had enjoyed music before, she taught me. through experience, what music is. I still have much to learn.

I am aware that there must be an enormous number of gamers who prefer a harder more metallic brand of music. One of our models, Lisa, who is a collector card ( as a pirate ) and in the 2013 Calendar in October as one of the C+2 models having a Touch of Wild is the singer in her band “Lords of the Drunken Pirate Crew“. They call their genre Pirate Metal, how original and cool is that!

Back to something milder… I just found Lake Street Dive today and if you catch the video this pic from which this was taken- just wait for the voice. Once she starts singing, you feel a bit of transportation that is sweetness.

I might be adding more to this list in the future But Mostly I want to hear from you-

Who do you listen to while gaming or not?!
