Someday in the near or mega distant future cities and ports will be littered throughout the universe. Everyone will strive for careers in rocket science, planetary colonization or solar exploration but a great many shall end up with common jobs that rarely get the spotlight they deserve, unless they’re in a game such as Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor.
This delightful project was created by a collective of student game developers known as Sundae Month and published by indie game developer and publisher, tinyBuild Games. It’s an anti-adventure game about picking up trash inan alien bazaar. The player takes on the role of the Janitor, an Alaensee woman with a municipally-subsidized trash incineration job, and dreams of leaving the planet of Xabran’s Rock far behind her.
Details are scarce right now but some features include:
-Exploring the spaceport!
-Eating perception-altering hallucinogenic eyeballs!
-Cleaning up the spaceport with your trusty Incinitron!
-Suffering through an ancient curse placed upon you by a mysterious, screaming skull!
-Discovering unique and flavorful pieces of trash that reveal the adventurous culture of the planet you’re stuck on…
…and, if you’re lucky, a way off it.
Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor is scheduled for release on Steam this Spring. Anyone with the awesome privilege of getting to attend PAX South will have the opportunity to try out a playable demo.
