This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend Nintendo’s private event, The Wii U Experience with the GamersBliss.com crew. It was located at a production studio in the Los Angeles area. The event was held in honor of the loyal members of Club Nintendo to allow them to be some of the first to play the new console. Several Wii U games were playable at the event. Pikmin 3, New Super Mario Bros U, ZombiU, and Game & Wario were all available to play. Two never before seen Nintendo Land titles called, Metroid Blast and Mario Chase were shown for the first time at this event. It was a joy to be among the first to see this new mini games. All of the games I was able to play left me feeling higly impressed!
The Wii U Pro Controller was even usable on a couple of the games! I am highly looking forward to the Wii U Pro Controller. It felt nice to play a Nintendo game in a classic way. It feels as though there are so many options with the Wii U. Using the Wii U game pad had a very unique feel to it. There are so many neat features. My favorite feature of the Wii U Gamepad is the dual analog sticks. The dual analog sticks go well with the touch screen.
One of the neatest parts of the event was the Nintendo themed photo booth. The photo booth had so many fun Nintendo props to pose with. Props at the photo booth included Mario and Luigi Hats with gloves, Koopa shells, plush Goomba, a Link hat, rupees and a huge Yoshi. Several Nintendo treats were also available throughout the event. Wii U cookies, chocolate mustaches, and Koopa Shell cake pops were some of the special treats offered.
I had a great time at this event. It was a unique event that no Nintendo fan would want to miss. I was honored to be able to play so many of the wonderful titles that the Wii U has to offer. There are some many games that I can’t wait to play more of. I am highly anticipating the Wii U and all of the options it has to offer. I will be preordering a Wii U as soon as possible!
