What sounds interesting this very moment – – a grand adventure or a funky adventure? If it’s the latter then audiences should find what they’re looking for in Beatbuddy: Tale of the Guardians. The jazzy crew at THREAKS, a Hamburg-based Game Startup, have been collecting awards left and right for this skillful endeavor which has already sold more than 700,000 copies on PC and iOS!

The main character is but of course, Beatbuddy, a gnarly yet ethereal little blue guy who awakens from slumber in order to save the world of Symphonia from losing musical freedom forever to Prince Maestro. While on his mission he journeys across six hand-painted otherworldly environments where life is abundant and pulsing with energy thanks to a wickedly original soundtrack by well-known artists such as Austin Wintory, Parov Stelar, Sabrepulse and La Rochelle Band. Players also get to interact with the throbbing atmosphere and a variety of characters such as Harmony, Clef, Trebble and Quaver who aid the hero as he opens paths and solve puzzles on his journey. Expect an action-adventure game experience in a whole new way, which incorporates  rhythmic music into every aspect of the beautiful world it represents.

“The Beatbuddy game features awesome music that gamers get to experience in each Song level,” said Wolf Lang, Co-CEO and the THREAKS GmbH. “Now fans of the game music will be able to enjoy all the tunes in this great package including some really uniquely arranged remixes that will have Beatbuddy fans bobbing their heads to the groovy beats!”

Only this week Beatbuddy is 66% discounted on STEAM.

THREAKS has plans to release the Android and Wii U version of the game and aim to break the 1 million download mark. Both versions are scheduled for Q3 2015.

Furthermore, anyone planning to attend GDC might be intrigued to hear about the team and their upcoming lecture at GDC in March. The lecture is called: “Did we fail? The weird success story of Beatbuddy“, on Wednesday, March 4th, from 12:00-12:30 pm.
